designing an emotional experience
philosophy of life
In today's world, frenetic, consumeristic and sometimes superficial, there are nevertheless still ways of bringing our dreams to life. And our homes (and their furnishings) may be one of the singular places where we may freely express our feelings.
Above and beyond the functionality of the environment in which one lives, a beautiful atmosphere created by the furnishings that complete it may be a source of emotional experience...this may the achieved, for example, in a room painted with bright colours, or perhaps muted tones, by the lighting, direct or indirect, that accentuates the furniture, whether classical or modern, eclectic or minimalist, expressing the personality of those who live there."Designing a space" is therefore a way of bringing a space alive even before it has taken physical form.
Scenographer, designer and interior decorator for some 20 years, I work against the trend: I illustrate architectural designs with hand-drawn sketches in perspective. This helps my clients imagine how their living spaces will actually be once completed.
By means of the highly realistic graphics which is one of my particular skills, by the way fabrics, materials and colours are rendered, I work to elicit feelings and to facilitate choices. I have had the opportunity of designing the interiors of some of the most beautiful homes in Naples and it has been my pleasure to endow them with expressive personality that goes beyond technical design and ordinary preliminary sketches. For me, interior design is not created only in the studio but also in situ. Combining diverse styles, I create personalised environments that supersede fashion and that have a harmonic relationship with structure, always with a touch of style inspired by various eras and situations. I also express my creativity in other than living spaces, such as at exhibitions, for commercial enterprises, etc, always with the objective of achieving a combination of unique design and functionality.
